Located in a strange lunar landscape of great geological interest, Tassili N’Ajjer is a sandstone rock formation in the Algerian section of the Sahara Desert. This site has one of the most important groupings of prehistoric cave art in the world. More than 15,000 drawings and engravings record the climatic changes, the animal migrations and the evolution of human life on the edge of the Sahara from 6000 BC to the first centuries of the present era.
Together with a large variety of the common paintings that we can find in Tassili N’Ajjer, there’s some strange paintings of humanoid beings which have not being identified yet, nevertheless the resemblance of these to other ancient paintings that we find throughout the world of the “gods” and “demons” is notable. Some believe they were painting some form of extraterrestrial beings.
Tassili N’Ajjer is the track nº6 of the album Backward in the Times: Part II
